Introduction
Richard and Kristen Hind welcome you to the Grey Bull, we aim to cater for all the needs of our guests in our 6 bed roomed B&B. The following is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
We are not suitable for disabled guests but we can be suitable for guests able to manage stairs.
Pre arrival
There is a frequent bus service 685 Newcastle/ Carlisle, the bus stop is close to the B&B and the central stop at Market Square is away.
The AD 122 stop is at the Market Square or Railway station.
The railway station is 2 minutes way by car - approx 10 minutes walk.

If using e-mail we will endeavour to reply to every single e-mail even if we have no vacancies, if you receive no reply please call as sometimes reply mail gets returned to us.
We are strictly no smoking everywhere in the building, Smoking out of the windows is strictly not permitted.
Arrival and car parking
The car park is situated at the side of the building there is room for 6 cars comfortably parked, With notice we can park a coach or HGV if necessary. The bays are not marked.
There is parking at the rear of the building - motor cycles are best parked here as it is flat levelled & concreted.
The surface is flat & gravelled there is a concreted footpath to take you to our main door.
We are happy to assist guests with luggage.
The town centre is a couple of minutes walk away from us.
Main Entrance and Reception
The front door has one step 19cm high
There is a door bell to ring, (I have to come from the 1st floor to answer)
The front door is locked and guests will have their own key to come and go as they please.
The door is quite wide and opens in two halves ( which allows cycles to come through easy)
In the hallway we have a chair and table where you can register
The surface is carpeted.
Public Areas - General - Internal
From the hallway our Breakfast room is on the right , next to it is a large room that is our cycle storage.
On the left is our guests lounge.
There are 5 corner stairs then 11 straight stairs with 2 handles at either side
Straight stairs - 16cm high/ 24cm deep/
One more step and a fire door leads you to the first 2 bedrooms.
There is emergency lighting in the hallway and guests lounge.
Public Areas WC
There is a toilet in the hallway ( the gents from when the Grey Bull was a pub.)
The ladies toilets are currently under refurbishment to disabled facilities
Breakfast Room and Lounge
There are no steps in the Breakfast room
There are 5 tables, 2 tables seat 4 people, we space times so every party will get their own table.
There is a high chair available.
The chairs are cushioned and without arms.
Menus are on the tables in small print
We do not play background music in any area of the b&b

Laundry, Leisure Facilities, Out door Facilities, Conference and Meeting Rooms
A few minutes walk to the town is a supermarket open 7am -10pm and a laundrette
Bedrooms
All 6 Bedrooms are central heated, double glazed, hospitality tray & biscuits, TV, hairdryer & mirror, & have one chair with arms.

There is a spare pillow and blanket in each room located in the drawers.
Wardrobes
High Dressing table/ drawers.
Floor surfaces are carpeted.
First Floor bedroom - double en-suite
Second first floor room - double en-suite
Our private facilities are situated on the first floor, there is a door bell to ring and our mobile number is on the bedroom wall notes.
There are then 15 stairs - 25cm deep/ 15cm high. Through to a fire door then to the top landing with 4 more bedrooms.
A triple room - A large room with a double bed and 2 single beds en-suite
2 Double en-suite rooms
A twin room with 2 single beds .
Grounds and Gardens
We have a little wall leading onto the grass in the main car park, if you require a sit outside or have a cigarette.
There are many nice walks in the town of Haltwhistle next to the river Tyne and the Burn gorge.
There are 2 play parks for children in Haltwhistle and a out door leisure centre with open air swimming pools open seasonally.
There are 3 coffee shops in the town. The fort , La - toot, Pillar box. The Manor House pub also serves coffee.
To get a bar meal and drinks it is 2 minutes walk The Manor House, The Black Bull, Centre of Britain a la carte, The fort restaurant ( lovely home cooked meals reasonably priced.
Two minutes drive The Milecastle Inn open all day for food April - Oct
Additional Information
We are a family run B&B and children are most welcome
We are totally no smoking
If needed we can refrigerate medication/ food in our kitchen fridge upon request.
Mobile phone reception is generally good
Unfortunately we do not have internet access - the library is on the main street in which you can use. Or Haltwhistle Partnership.
We are happy to take delivery for hired equipment.
If guests are having their luggage delivered ahead please let us know .
Fire System
New Fire regulations and smoke system was fitted in 2005, the fire alarm is loud, if you need assistance on evacuating or have a hearing impairment we will ensure you are evacuated safely.
Please let us know at check in.
The fire exits are the main door , kitchen through larder, exit from 2nd floor to the rear car park
Our assembly point is across the road from the car park.
